of Harrison, AR
September 13, 1955 - August 2, 2016
J.D. Stringer passed away Tuesday, August 2, 2016, at Washington Regional Hospital, Fayetteville, Arkansas, from complications due to heart surgery. He was born September 13, 1955, in Harrison, the son of Harold and Maudie Fay Stringer. He was a life-long resident of Harrison. J.D. was preceded in death by his parents and a half-brother, Don Branison. He is survived by two brothers, Denzell Stringer and Seigel Stringer, of Harrison; along with numerous friends, far too many to mention.
J.D. was employed by major trucking companies for the past 30 years and was commended for driving over 2.5 million miles accident free. He was noted by his many friends and co-workers as being someone that lived life to its fullest. He had a bigger than life laugh with a big bear hug for the people he loved. He loved to golf, fish, hunt and hang out with his friends. His many friends will always remember "string town" and all the fun and memorable times they shared.
So, R.I.P., J.D... Heaven has gained a beautiful and colorful soul. Rest assured you will never be forgotten.
A celebration of J.D.'s life was located at his parents' gravesite in Maplewood Cemetery, Saturday, August 13, 2016, with special friends speaking, to be conducted by the family.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been set up with Arvest Bank in Harrison to help with funeral costs.
Surprised and saddened to read this news. When we were kids we used to call Johnny "Squirrel Bait". He was a character in those days, and even though I hadn't seen him in many years, I'm sure he kept it light-hearted all his life. If there's fishin' up there, leave a few for me, Squirrel Bait.
So sorry to miss out on the going away. Another close friend had a severe stroke.
Sure going to miss the music and singing. Especially the fishing and that old boat. Say hello to all the friends up there for me. Going to miss you.

So sad to hear about JD. Although we haven't seen each other for many years I can still see JD's big smile and will always remember our good times in Harrison and Buffalo River. Safe travels JD. Dan

was just sent this news and couldn't believe it. I last talked to JD at my Mom's right after your mother passed and he seemed in good health. My condolences. I wish I could make it to his Service but can't.
I have some great memories of times with JD - and you both too
best to you both
