Karen Marie Neaves, age 77, of Harrison, passed away Sunday, June 26, 2016, at Washington Regional Hospice in Fayetteville. She was born July 27, 1938, in Rib Lake, Wisconsin, the daughter of Wenzel and Joyce (James) Kopfhomer. Along with her parents, Karen was preceded in death by her husband, Phil Neaves, September 16, 2005, whom she dearly missed.

Karen was a member of First Lutheran Church, Harrison and received home communion from Lord of the Lakes Lutheran Church in Diamond City. She married Phil Neaves April 11, 1958 at Fort McClellen, Alabama.
She was an RN with a BSN in Geriatrics nursing elders and retired in the 1990s. Karen enjoyed visiting with family and friends, crocheting for children's charities, and quilting with RSVP. She also enjoyed turtles and always kept up with current events on CNN and Fox.

Karen is survived by her obedient children, Jeffrey Dean Neaves of Alpena and Nancy Anne Neaves of Harrison; her brothers, Roy Kopfhomer, Robert Kopfhomer, and Rusty Kopfhomer, all of Portage, Wisconsin, and James Kay of Winchester, Tennessee; and a host of other family and dear friends. The family lost a precious person and gained a treasured angel.

I had the opportunity to met this lovely lady during the 90's. I worked part-time with Karen w/ the ElderChoices Program (DHS). She was a remarkable lady and will never forget her compassion for others.
