Charles Ray Hardy

of Harrison, AR

February 22, 1937 - June 13, 2016

Charles R. Hardy, age 79, of Harrison, passed away Monday, June 13, 2016, at Washington Regional Medical Center in Fayetteville, Arkansas. He was born February 22, 1937, at Snyder, Colorado, the son of John and Thelma (Gilbert) Hardy. Charles was preceded in death by his parents and a daughter, Linda Auch.

Charles married Ruth Reed July 10, 1955, in Brush, Colorado. He retired from the Army/National Guard and worked in maintenance at North Arkansas College. He was also a self-employed farmer.

Charles is survived by his wife, Ruth Hardy, of the home; a daughter, Debra Pace, of Harrison; two sons, Charles R. Hardy, Jr. of North Pole, Alaska and John Hardy of Conifer, Colorado; three brothers, Ralph Hardy of Tennessee, John ''Jack'' Hardy of Oklahoma, and Millard Hardy; ten grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; and a host of other family and friends.

Visitation was Friday, June 17, 2016, at Roller-Christeson Funeral Home.

Funeral service was Saturday, June 18, 2016, at Roller-Christeson Funeral Home with Brother Jim Bryant officiating.

Graveside funeral service with full military honors was held Monday June 20, 2016, at Brush Memorial Veterans Cemetery in Brush, Colorado.

Pallbearers were family and friends.

Honorary pallbearers were Dr. Geoffrey Dunaway and Dr. Fossey of the Veteran's Hospital at Fayetteville, Arkansas.
