Mary Jane Stringer, age 65, of Harrison, passed away Sunday, May 1, 2016, at Harrison Health and Rehab. She was born April 9, 1951, in Harrison, the daughter of Denzil and Eva B. (Wells) Stringer. Along with her parents, Mary Jane was preceded in death by her aunt, Lucille (Wells) Carter.

Mary Jane was a lifelong resident of the Harrison area. She was active with First United Methodist Church and attended Believer's Fellowship Church. She spent the majority of her working career in retail sales, was a Razorback Football fan, and loved her family and friends. Mary Jane also loved to travel when she was able. Where you were going, she was going as well.

Mary Jane is survived by her cousins, Cathy Duggan and Bill Wells and his wife Kay; her God-daughter, Becky Houghton; a host of other family; her friends at Harrison Health and Rehab; and her dear friends, Wanda and Bill Haughton and Genita Harris.

Graveside service was Thursday, May 5, 2016, at Milam Cemetery, Harrison, with Bro. Dewey McGarrah officiating.

Memorials may be made to Harrison Health and Rehab Activity Group.

I am so sorry to learn of the passing of Mary Jane. I used to work with her at JCPenney, and she always had a smile on her face!

Sister Mary Jane was such a wonderful, sweet lady. She was nice and friendly and we will miss her very much. I'll miss seeing her in church. She was a true fighter and loved God.
