Wallace ''Wally'' Edgar West, age 73, of Harrison, passed away Tuesday, May 26, 2015, at Hospice of the Hills House surrounded by his family. He was born August 7, 1941, in Ward, Arkansas, the son of Wallace W. and Annie Belle (Ausburn) West. Along with his parents, Wallace was preceded in death by his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Francis and Fern Clark; his brother-in-law, Sonny Mullins; and his nephew, Joe Hardcastle.

Wally married his high school sweetheart, Annette C. Clark, December 2, 1960, in Rogers, Arkansas. Born to this union of 54 years were 3 children, Wallace Allen, Deborah Lynn, and Joseph William. Wally was the owner of Wally's IGA and had retired from Millbrook.

Wally was an avid outdoorsman. He enjoyed all types of hunting but was most passionate about turkey hunting. He spent hours every spring studying and watching the turkeys. He was also a lover of all sports, volunteering many years as a little league baseball coach. He was instrumental in the creation of what is now the Harrison Consolidated Youth Program. He was a member of the Goblin Football Chain Gain for 28 years. He loved watching anything Razorback and could recite stats and answer questions regarding NASCAR. Wally was a self-educated scholar of history. Most days he could be spotted around the ''round table'' at the Ranch House Restaurant as well.

Wally is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Annette (Clark) West, of the home; his sons, Wally West of Fort Smith, Arkansas and Joe West and wife Sarah of Harrison; his daughter, Debbie West-Stewart, of Harrison; and his four grandchildren, Madi Stewart, Wallace M. West, Dalton West and Avery West.

He is also survived by his sisters, Frances Mullins and Ann Lipp, both of Rogers; his brother and sister-in-law, Art and Nancy West, of Bedford, Texas; several nieces and nephews; and his special family friend, Frankie Bellora.

Wally was a such great friend to Dad (Don Arnold). He could make him laugh like no one else! I smile as I think of them talking turkeys and Razorbacks.

My heart breaks for you all during this time. May you find comfort in your loving memories and strength in God in the days ahead.

With deepest sympathy,
Aimee

Arthur, I can only imagine the empty feeling you must have to lose your big brother. Sonny was a good guy and I'm proud to have had the opportunity to meet and spend a little time with him. I hope your family can find peace and comfort during this difficult time.
