Edna Carter, age 82, of Harrison, died Sunday, August 5, 2012, at Springfield, Missouri. Mrs. Carter was born on June 13, 1930, the daughter of James and Florence (Johnson) Miller, in Lancashire, England.
Edna met Charles Lawrence Carter and married him on July 29, 1950 and enjoyed 49 years of marriage before his death. Edna and Charles lived in several countries and many cities in the United Sstates while her husband served 25 years in the military. After retiring to Harrison she was a nurse at NARMC for 15 years. She was a homemaker, loving mother and a faithful and true friend to all who knew her. Edna had a strong Christian faith, loved animals and enjoyed spending the afternoons on her porch with her neighbors and friends.
Mrs. Carter was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, a son, Charles Lee Carter; a daughter, Ava Carter Pederson; and all her siblings. She is survived by her son Ross Carter of Harrison. Grandchildren; James Sweeney of Berryville; Eric Carter of Springfield, MO; Allison and husband Brian Long, Allen and wife Samantha Pederson and Jeff and wife Paige Carter all of Harrison. Step granddaughter, Laura and husband Robert Wilburn of Valley Springs. Great grandchildren; Ashley Long, Emily Long, Logan Pederson, Keeton Carter, Lyla Kate Carter, Katie Wilburn and Hunter Wilburn all of Harrison. Her beloved companion Trixie, a Jack Russell terrier and a host of other extended family and friends.
Visitation was Tuesday, August 7, 2012, at Roller-Christeson Funeral Home.
Funeral services was Wednesday, August 8, 2012, at Roller-Christeson Funeral Home with the Rev. Bobby Brown speaking.
Burial was in Maplewood Cemetery.
Pallbearers were grandsons, James Sweeney, Eric Carter, Brian Long, Allen Pederson and Jeff Carter.

My thoughts and prayers are with you. I worked with Edna when she worked at the hosptial and I loved her so, I always loved to talk to her and listen to her stories. She was a wonderful lady!
