Cynthia Lynn Jones

of Marion, AR

August 11, 1964 - February 16, 2018

Cynthia Lynn Jones, 53, life-long resident of West Memphis, died peacefully in her home on Friday, February 16. Lynn poured her heart into her home that she shared with her husband, sons, and cats.
Lynn is survived by her husband of 28 years, Luther Allen Jones; her two sons, William Walter Jones, 26, and Zachary Austin Jones, 22; her parents, Anita Manning Platt of Plano, TX, and W.F. and Katherine Slaughter of West Memphis, AR; her brothers, Bill Slaughter Jr., Ed Slaughter, and Jeff Mullen; and her sister, Traci Lynn Ward. Lynn also leaves behind her nieces and nephews, for whom she cared greatly, and her two cats, Spotticus (Spot) and Junior, who ensured her days were always interesting.
Lynn is a communicant of St. Michael's Catholic Church, where her father still attends church.
Lynn worked for years as an office manager for a masonry and electric company in Memphis. However, her most profound role, and the one at the center of her heart, was that of wife and mother. For her, life's greatest joy was found in the small things. She loved to go out for brunch with her boys, to go to the movies, to sit by the fire with her cats listening to shows on television, to spend time with her father and husband at the barn talking and tending to the animals, to spend time in Hot Springs for family reunions, to listen to her mother-in-law, Pat Jones, tell stories from her childhood, and to play loud music and dance. Most of all, though, she just loved to be around the people she loved. Anyone lucky enough to be a part of her life knew how big her heart was and how intensely she could love, and they are all the better for it.
Lynn had a rare and beautiful soul that will live on in the hearts of those touched by her love. With her love, she led by example to teach other's how to love. She will be missed dearly and will never be forgotten, for wherever a beautiful soul has been, she has left behind a trail of beautiful memories.
''Unable are the loved to die, for love is immortality.'' '''' Emily Dickinson
Visitation will be held at St. Michael's Catholic Church on Thursday, February 22, 2018, at 10:00 AM followed by a Rosary at 10:45. The funeral mass will be held at 11:00 AM followed by a private family committal service at Crittenden Memorial Park Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to St. Michael's Catholic Church, West Memphis, AR.
