Norwood Watts James, 79, passed away peacefully in his sleep, on February 2, 2018.

He leaves behind his loving and devoted wife Betty James; his 2 daughters, Holly Young and Kim Brasfield; his son Jeff James; his 7 grandchildren, Brandon James, Casey Brasfield, Micah Brasfield, Maggie Brasfield, Bear Brasfield, Payton Young, and Miles Young; his 2 great-grandchildren, Wyatt James and Grayson James.

Norwood attended the University of Central Arkansas, in Conway, AR, and a graduate, with a degree in Chemistry, from the University of Memphis, in Memphis, TN.

He was a proud veteran of the United States Army, and retired from Velsicol Chemical and CPS Chemical. Norwood was an avid golfer, and a past member of the West Memphis Country Club.

Visitation will be held at Roller-Citizens Funeral Home, 201 Pine Street, West Memphis, AR, on Monday, February 5, 2018, from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm, with a Graveside Service immediately following, at Crittenden Memorial Park Cemetery, Marion, AR, immediately following.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be sent to a charity of your choice.

My sympathy and prayers go out to the family. Watts was a good man. He never met anyone that he couldn't strike up a conversation with. Fun loving, and never taking things too seriously. He will be missed by many.

I'm sorry to hear about Watts passing away. When he would come in Kroger he would have me paged to say hello. I enjoyed talking with him. I will miss him.
