Gerald Richard Haskett, Sr., 91, passed away on January 31, 2018. He was born August 12, 1926 in Joiner Arkansas to Annie Clara Felts & Granville R. Haskett. He is proceeded in death by wife of 40 years, Amelda Mooring Haskett, brother, Melvin Ray Haskett and sisters Helen Haney & Bobbie Shannon. He leaves behind his daughter Kathy Montgomery of Amelia Island, Fl. & sons Gerald Haskett Jr. of Hoover, Al. & John G. Haskett of Brandon, Ms. He also leaves three granddaughters Sara Guinn-Bailey, Katherine Montgomery & Amy Amelda Haskett and 2 great grandsons.
Mr. Haskett served his country in the US Army during WWII. After being honorably discharged, he married his high school sweetheart Amelda Jane and successfully raised three children. His career spanned 44 years as a long haul commercial truck driver.

I remember Gerald and Amelda during our school days at Shawnee but I remember Helen best.
