November 23, 1948 - August 21, 2017

He leaves his daughters August Rose (DeWayne) of Marion, AR and Autumn Bauer of Wynne, AR; granddaughters Jaden and Julia Guiltner; grandsons Gavin and Gates Rose. He is also survived by three sisters; Lorita Lee, Poplar Bluff, MO; Donna Bauer, Cape Girardeau, MO and Lisa Selvidge, Schoolcraft, MI.
Born November 23, 1948 he was raised in Poplar Bluff, Missouri. After graduating from Poplar Bluff High School in 1966 he joined the Navy. Following two tours of duty in Vietnam as a Seabee he attended Bailey Technical School in St. Louis, MO, where he trained as a diesel mechanic, a career he pursued till he retired in 2014. At the time of his death he was employed by the Crittenden County Road Department.

He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Crawfordsville, AR.

His sense of humor was legendary. He loved a good joke, or even a bad one. One of his favorite things to do was to sit on his screened-in porch, sipping wine and swapping tales with his friend Jimmy.
He will be missed.

My condolences to Doug's family. So sad to hear of his passing. We were good friends in High School and he, Larry Bacon, Terry Massingham and I were best buds. We did lots of things together, even some mischief. Lost track of Doug after he left for the Navy. Lot's of fond memories. Rest in peace Doug.
