February 17, 1933 - June 22, 2017
Virginia Louise Scott, 84, of West Memphis, passed away peacefully and went to be with the Lord on Thursday, June 22, 2017. Virginia was born in Senatobia Mississippi, the daughter of Leo Talmadge and Mamie Blevens Scott. She is survived by her sisters and brother-in-laws Georgie and Vernon Walker, and Syble and Bobby Morrow, nieces and nephews Ginger Allinson (Steve), Candy Blake, Teresa Grubbs, Scott Morrow (LuAnn), Vernon Walker, Chris Morrow (Harriet), Tim Morrow (Nacie), and Kimberly Williams (A.D.). She will also be greatly missed by fourteen great nephews, thirteen great nieces, two great-great nephews, a great-great niece, and many beloved friends.
Virginia was a life-long member of Calvary Baptist Church where she was a member of the J.O.Y. Class and taught 4 and 5 year-old Sunday School through three generations. She was a graduate of West Memphis High and worked as a bookkeeper for AmeriGas for 48 years. She loved to cook for others and was famous for her homemade blueberry muffins and funeral potatoes. Virginia especially enjoyed traveling and spending time with the "Friday Ladies". She and God grew beautiful flowers and she took great pleasure in feeding and watching the birds. Virginia was a voracious reader and worked the crossword daily. She was partial to old hymns, particularly ''How Great Thou Art'' and began every prayer with ''Our Heavenly Father, we thank thee''. She was gracious, kind, loved people well, and will be deeply missed.

Doug & I are so sorry for your loss. We pray that GOD will comfort you all during this time and the coming days and give you peace. Love to you all.
My deepest condolences on the loss of your sister and aunt. From the first day that I met Virginia, she always showed such kindness and compassion to everyone. My thoughts and prayers are with you.
I would like to express my heartfelt sympathy to the family for the loss of your dear Virginia. I hope that you will find comfort in the words of Jesus at John 5:28,29 where he promised that the day is coming when he is going to resurrect back to life those in the grave. Until then, it is just like they are sleeping. (John 11:11-13) May your family draw strength from Jehovah, the God of all Comfort.
