Dr. Chester Weir ''C.W.'' Peeples, Jr., 86, of West Memphis, Arkansas, died Saturday, September 17, 2016, at his home in West Memphis. Betty Collins Peeples, 83, died Sunday, September 18, 2016, at Methodist University Hospital in Memphis, Tennessee.
C.W. and Betty were members of First Presbyterian Church of West Memphis. Dr. Peeples received his medical degree from University of Tennessee School of Medicine, served as a Captain in the United States Medical Corps, and practiced Internal Medicine in West Memphis for over fifty years. He served on the West Memphis City Council for several years. Mrs. Peeples received a bachelor's degree from Southwestern at Memphis (now Rhodes College), where C.W. and Betty met. Betty taught English at Snowden School in Memphis, subsequently dedicating her life to her family and community service. They were married for 62 years.
They are survived by four sons: Chester Weir ''Chet'' Peeples, III, of San Francisco, California; David Collins Peeples (Leslie), of West Memphis; John Taylor Peeples (Cheryl), of Trumansburg, New York; and Guy Langley Peeples (Theresa), of Harrison, Arkansas. They had six grandchildren and one great-granddaughter. Dr. Peeples is also survived by his step-brother, R.L. Simmons.

I know years have passed by but I still think about Dr. Peeples from time to time. He truly was a kind man. I was heart broken when he told me he was going to retire and send me over to Dr. Pierce office. Honestly, to this day, I look up at the sky from time to time and say "thank you Dr. Peeples" you put me in good hands with Dr. Pierce. 2 of the best doctors in the united States! I will always be greateful for what Dr. Peeples did for me when he sent me to Dr. Pierce office, I just feel like they saved my life and never skipped a beat.

We do no have enough "thank you"s for the care your dad gave our dad. He gave us a few extra precious years with him. Your dad was a great doctor and an honorable man. He was definitely part of the greatest generation.

We are very saddened to hear of your parents passing over the past weekend. We sat about 3 boxes down from them at Oaklawn and would occasionally see them at Nick's BBQ in Carlisle on our travels. They were a complete joy to be around and will truly be missed. Our thoughts and prayers are with all the family during this time.

Guy, John, David and Chet, My heart goes out to each of you on the loss of not one, but both your mom and dad one day apart,,,I just can't imagine the pain you are going thru at this time.. Please accept my condolences and know you all will be in my prayers.. Dr Guy is one of my doctors, love him as a son so much that I come all the way from W.M for any of my GI issues..I am sure his dad was the best in his field because his son is such a pleasant doctor and solves your needs quickly and professionally..David, John and Chet, My oldest daughter -Phyllis Caah probably knows all three of Guy's brothers..Know she has mentioned David, but I too want you young men to know that WM is proud of you brothers,,,God bless you
