In our grief, we failed to mention Sharon Lee Holmes Nelson, whom he was married to for 22 years, in the Obituary. He was also proceeded in death by her as well. WE did mention her at the funeral. Please know we never intentionally meant to omit her from this Celebration of our Fathers life. Our deepest sympathies, The Nelson Family.

I missed getting to serve with Richard by 7 mo. I got transferred from the Saratoga just before he arrived, but I am proud that I had the chance to share sea stories with him at the American Legion Post 53 West Memphis.
