Ervin Eugene Pearcy, 85, of Marion, AR passed away August 6, 2016.
After serving in the United States Air Force in the Philippines, he worked his way through the University of Arkansas while supporting his family and earning a BSBA degree. He was the oldest of seven children and was the first to earn a college degree.
He was district manager for Gordon's Transport in Fort Smith, AR for many years then founded Pearcy Auto Sales in West Memphis, AR. Ervin was an avid collector of antique automobiles and actually built his first car when he was 14 years old. He was also member of Marion First Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Delpha Pearcy; his son, Greg Pearcy; and his parents, Louis and Anna Pearcy.
He is survived by his son, Alan Pearcy (Cindy) of Marion, AR; his daughter, Rita Payne (Mike) of Brighton, TN; 9 grandchildren, Chris Smith, Shannon Cathey, Taylor Pearcy, Logan Pearcy, Autumn Pearcy, Clancey Pearcy, Kena Pearcy, Lucas Pearcy, Nicholas Pearcy; 5 great-grandchildren; 3 sisters, Charlene Carter (Ray) of Greenwood, AR, Sharon Blythe (Bobby) of Booneville, AR, Donna Bridges (Larry) of Greenwood, AR; 3 brothers, Laverne Pearcy (Linda) of Fort Smith, AR, Lowell Pearcy of Mulberry, AR, and Mearl Pearcy (Dora).
As Secretary-Treasurer of the Tennessee T's Model T Club, I would like to express our sadness in learning of Ervin's passing. We will keep his family in our prayers as they deal with their loss.
I have known Mr Pearcy for awhile. He was of the AACC He was such a sweet and kind person who gave great hugs!!!! James and I are saddened at his passing!!!! We send much love and prayers to the family!!!
I worked with Ervin at Gordon's Transports in Fort Smith. He was a Good Boss & a Fair Person. It was easy to get his face red, so he was also fun to pick at. I am sorry for your loss.
