Doris ''Bug'' Murphree King was born July 1, 1926 to John Craze Murphree and Cora Frances Vanlandingham Murphree in Earle, AR. She went to be with her Lord and Savior on June 8, 2016.
She graduated from Earle High School in 1944 and worked in the bank there and in West Memphis before becoming church secretary for 25 years at First Baptist Church of West Memphis. She was married to Lawrence Allen (Andy) King, Sr. and is survived by 5 children: Mary Frances Crosthwait (Mike) of Marion, Lawrence Allen King, Jr. (Linda) of Van Buren, Sybol Shaw (Ben) of Marion, Archie Miles King III of West Memphis, and John Phillip King (Becky) of Garland, TX. She leaves 10 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. As Proverbs 31:28 says, ''Her children rise up and call her blessed.''
The center of Doris' life was her Lord, her family, her church, and her many loving, faithful friends.
Over the years I had know my great-grandma, she was wonderful towards me. She would always get stuff for me for my birthday and everything. I miss you Grandma!
One of the greatest grandmas a grandson could ask for <3
Doris was our wonderful neighbor for many years. She was like a grandmother to my three children. We will miss her so much but know that she is with the Lord and Miss Ruth. She was a great friend to my parents, Sally and Dave Shelton too. I am praying for her family at this difficult time.
My prayers and thoughts are with you all during this time of loss.
God will provide the perfect amount of strength and peace you need for each day.
Love to you all

Doris was a special person to the Burton family. She and Margie (Mom) were dear friends. The last time I saw her was in October when I was at FBC the day before Mom's funeral. I was so glad to see her as we had several phone visits once Mom was here in the Phoenix area with me. She was a dear sweet lady!
