Merle was a Proverbs 31 woman, virtuous and capable. Angelo could trust her, his heart was safe with her. She provided meals for her family and those in need. She made clothing for her family and bedcovers for their beds. When she spoke, her words were wise and kind. Her family could stand and bless her. This woman who feared the Lord is deserving of praise. We loved her dearly. Sidney fondly called her Ida Merle and she fondly called him Sidney Ira. We are grateful for the many times spent about her table. Her home was always open and a safe place. My Mom also knew her as Pete. So grateful her faith has become sight as she came face to face with Jesus.

She was Merle to everyone else but we ( my family) knew her as "Pete." Her husband Angelo called her Pete, so we did too. I loved her so much! Her home was my, home away from home for too many years to count. Anita & I were inseparable.
I sure will miss her. She was a true prayer warrior! She would always say, " stay in church faithfully!" I know she is having some great talks with my Mom in heaven. They were best friends.
