Marvin L. Morgan, age 94, of Harrison, passed away Wednesday, May 10, 2017, at Hospice of the Hills Hospice House. Mr. Morgan was born March 19, 1923, in Dora, Alabama, the son of Andrew Harvey and Cora Bell (Alexander) Morgan. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Mary Carroll Morgan; a son, Michael Lawson Morgan; a granddaughter, Meredith Jean Davis; two brothers; and six sisters.

Marvin was a World War II Army veteran having served in London, England. He worked for John Deere for 20 years as a field test technician retiring in February 1982. He was a member of County Line Baptist Church in Compton, Arkansas. Mr. Morgan enjoyed mission trips to Alaska, worked with migrant workers at Elaine, Arkansas, was active in Brotherhood, served as a deacon, taught Sunday school, training union, and various committees in his church.

Marvin is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Linda and Roger Dale Williamson, of Harrison; his son and daughter-in-law, Dale and Jan Morgan, of Monroe, Louisiana; his daughter, Gayle Morgan, of Arab, Alabama; 14 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; 4 great-great-grandchildren; two brothers, Charley Morgan of Delhi, Louisiana and Bobby Morgan and his wife Pat of Heflin, Louisiana; and a sister-in-law, Beatrice Morgan, of Marion, Arkansas.



Funeral service was Friday, May 12, 2017, at County Line Baptist Church, with Pastor Steve Emerson officiating. Visitation was Friday prior to the funeral.

Harrison service pallbearers were Russell Walker, Kenneth Davis, Ron Shaver, Allen Estes, Eli Emerson and Jimmy Dale Huskey.



Graveside funeral service was Saturday, May 13, 2017, at Sunset Memorial Gardens, with Pastor Rudy Davis officiating. Visitation was Saturday, May 13th, at Roller-Citizens Funeral Home in West Helena, Arkansas.

West Helena service pallbearers were Lawrence Smith, Orville Freeman, Roland Williamson, Ross Williamson, Windom Baker and Benny McCann.

So glad I shared many fond memories with Uncle Marvin and Aunt Mary, and family. We had the best times with them. We will miss you so Uncle Marvin. Thank you for all you did to teach us about Jesus and His love for us. You set a wonderful example.
