Shirley Ann Woods was born December 7, 1936, in Loveland, Oklahoma, to Jim and Julia Amyx. She lived in Oklahoma until marrying and moving to Conway, Arkansas. She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers Ralph, Roger, Henry and Hobert Amyx.
Shirley worked for Satterfield Fuels for 20 years as office manager and continued providing office services to Mid South Cabinets and Lewis Livestock Auctions until her last retirement.
She was a very devoted wife, mother and caretaker of her family and grandchildren. She was a star basketball player and enjoyed most all sports and was always ready to cheer on her favorite team and especially her grandchildren's sports. She was a very healthy and active individual and always taking care of family, job, garden, farm and the family business. Regardless of the activities she could balance all of them and make sure everything was inline.
Left to cherish her memory is her husband of 62 years, Carl L. Woods of the home. Survived by two sisters Wanda Davis of Wichita Falls, TX and Catherine Smith of Vernon, TX; a daughter, Karla Cook, a son, Doug Woods (Jennifer) of Conway; grandchildren Carson Cook, Jace Woods, Cassidy Cook; a host of nieces, nephews, and extended family to treasure happy memories of her.
Visitation will be held at Pickles Gap Baptist Church from 6 pm to 8 pm on Friday, January 26, 2018 and funeral service will be at 11 am at Pickles Gap Baptist Church, 2 Pickles Gap Road, Conway on Saturday, January 27, 2018 with Brother Jay McAlister and Brother Larry White, officiating. Pallbearers will be Brant Holland, Tate Moore, Max ''Doc'' Dollar, Glenn Woods, Cody Beene, Jim Adkisson. Honorary pallbearers Joey Woods, Carson Cook and Jace Woods. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Pickles Gap Baptist Church and American Cancer Society.

I’m so sorry for the loss of this sweet woman. I can remember her sweet smile in that lawn chair waiting to watch Doug or Jace at the rodeos. My prayers are with the Woods family. Love yal!
