Theresa Marie Simon, 86, of Conway passed away on Wednesday, August 23, 2017 surrounded by her children. She was born August 8, 1931 in Conway, AR to the late Paul and Josephine (Rolf) Freyaldenhoven. Theresa was also preceded in death by her husband of 56 1/2 years, Louis G. Simon, Sr., ten brothers, two sisters, and her son in law, Jimmy C. Callahan.
She attended St. Joseph's Catholic School and was a lifelong member of St. Joseph's Parish. Theresa was active in numerous parish activities. She spent a great part of her life raising her eight children along with several of her nieces and nephews. In her latter years she had a passion for helping those in need.
Theresa leaves to cherish her memory, her children, Marcella Callahan of Little Rock; Katie Atkinson and husband Charles of Hot Springs; Louise Simon of Columbia, Missouri; Louis George ''Lou'' Simon, Jr. of Pottsville; Clara Rose Simon of Conway; Rita White and husband Chester of Azle, Texas; Daniel Simon and wife, Kathy of Moscow, TN; Andrea Foley and husband Mike of Waunakee, Wisconsin; 11 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.
Rosary will begin at 6:00 p.m. Friday August 25th, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Conway, with visitation following. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 a.m. Saturday at St. Joseph Catholic Church, with Father Charles Thessing serving as celebrant. Interment will follow at Crestlawn Memorial Park. Serving as pallbearers are her grandsons, LTC Jason Atkinson, David Atkinson, Jimmy Callahan II, Lyndsy Simon, Alex Foley, Andrew Foley, Jonathan White, and Wes Duvall.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the St. Joseph's School Endowment Fund, P.O. Box 72, Conway, AR 72033, Arkansas Sheriff's Youth Ranches Inc., P.O. Sarah and I just found out after the funeral. I would have been there to serve at Mass had I known. Theresa was a saint among us. She loved and cared for many and extended her concern far and wide. We were lucky recipients of the "Newsletters" and enjoyed the reports. Our prayers go out to all her family especially the Newsletter editor. You guys are in out thoughts and prayers.
