Mary Lois Carter

of Conway, AR

August 4, 1924 - May 2, 2017

Mary Lois Yarbrough Carter, 92, of Conway passed away May 2, 2017. She was born August 4, 1924 to the late Buford and Martha Sue Woefle Yarbrough in Drummond, TN. She was raised by her father and ''˜mother' Effie Parks Yarbrough.

She attended school at Naylor, Arkansas where she often talked about playing basketball, outside on a dirt court and her love for learning.

On February 24, 1945, she married the love of her life, the late Loyd Alton Carter. They loved raising a garden, went fishing and camping every chance they could and attended all their grandchildren's activities.

She was a member of Old Liberty Baptist Church in Conway.

She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, daughter Jackie Joann Chance, brothers Frank Edward Yarbough and Roy Ernest Yarbrough, sisters Hazel Grable, Georgie Visser, Jean Gleason, Carolyn McCombs Kirkendoll and Phyllis Priest, great grandchildren Christopher Brock and Jordan West.

She is survived by one sister Helen Ingram of Greenbrier, children Loyd (Gail) Carter, Brenda (Bobby) Tucker, Donna (Charlie) Green, all of Conway, son-in-law James Chance of Enola, 9 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, 2 great-great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews and friends. We will miss that beautiful smile she always had for everyone she met and always remember her love for family, friends and life.

The family would like to thank the employees and volunteers at Salem Place Nursing Center who gave her such wonderful care during her stay.

Graveside services will be held 11:00 AM Friday May 5, 2017 at Crestlawn Memorial Park in Conway with pastor Jesse Thomas officiating. Visitation will be Thursday May 4, 2017 from 6-8PM at Roller McNutt Funeral Home in Conway.

Pallbearers are her grandchildren Travis Chance, Tina Brock, Shawn Carter, Shannon Carter, Mark Heffington, Deanna Bruce, Randel Green, Scott Roberts and Richie Roberts.

I am sorry for your loss. Do not marvel at this, because the hour is coming in which all those in the memorial tombs will hear is voice and come out.”—John 5:28, 29.

Tina and family, we are so sorry for your loss, we had gotten to know her for a short time while we had the honor of playing at the nursing home and she was a delightful lady. You are in our prayers.

Please accept my sincere sympathy. The Holy Scriptures say that a person who lives for 80 years is especially strong. (Psalm 90:10) What a privilege that your mother lived for 92 years. Take comfort in God's promise to sustain and strengthen you at this time. (Psalm 55:22)
