L. J. Ransom, 90, of Conway, went to be with his Lord on Sunday, April 30, 2017. He was born on Sunday, March 20, 1927 in Wiville, Arkansas to the late Leonard Monroe Ransom and Beaulah Williams Ransom.

Mr. Ransom was a heavy equipment operator and truck driver and was a member of Eastside Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents; the mother of his children, Anita Ransom; and a daughter, Carolyn Collins.

He leaves to cherish his memory his wife of 23 years, Joy Ransom; sons, Tommy Lee and Michael David Ransom; daughters, Diane Ashworth (George) and Marilyn Ransom all of Conway; sisters, Betty Lou Holley of Albuquerque, NM and Mary Jewell Mills of Thatcher, AZ; brothers, Bob (Margaret) Ransom, El Paso, TX, Jim (Sandi) Ransom of Long Beach, CA, Hansel (Norma) Ransom of Oklahoma City, OK, Bobby (Betty) Cansler of Harrisburg, AR and Charles (Ella Mae) Cansler of McCrory, AR; eight grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and a host of other family and friends.

Visitation will be Thursday, May 4, 2017, at 12 noon with the funeral service following at 1:00PM in the Chapel of Roller-McNutt Funeral Home of Conway. Interment will follow in Crestlawn Memorial Park.

L.J. was my next door neighbor for almost 45 years. I have fond memories of him and Joy dressed up and headed out for an evening of dancing. What a green thumb he had! I told him that I didn't need to grow flowers in my yard. I was satisfied just looking at his beautiful blooms!
