James T. McIntire, 89, of Conway, Arkansas passed away Tuesday, December 20, 2016 in Shawnee.
He was born October 1, 1927 to Alonzo and Bertie (Richardson) McIntire in Mountain View, Arkansas.
James was raised in Mountain View, Arkansas and attended Mountain View Public Schools.
He lived in Albuquerque, New Mexico for 10 years before moving to Midwest City in 1968 where he lived until 1984, when he then moved to Conway, Arkansas where he has resided for the last 32 years.
He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army and was honorably discharged.
James married Ann Louise Cox on June 7, 1952 in Albuquerque, New Mexico and she preceded him in death on January 6, 2012.
He worked as a machinist at Tinker Air Force Base until his retirement. James enjoyed woodworking and making clocks.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Ann Louise McIntire; 2 sons, James McIntire, Jr. and Jeffrey Alan McIntire; his parents; 2 sisters, Edith Craig and Inez Courtney; and 3 brothers, A.C. McIntire and infant twin brothers.
Those left to cherish his memory are his daughter and son-in-law, Jana and Alan Timperley of Tecumseh, OK; 2 sons and daughter-in-law, Jerald McIntire of Midwest City, OK and Jody and Deanna McIntire of Edmond, OK; 12 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; 2 sisters and 1 brother-in-law, Ova Lea Leighton and Bobbie and Bob Brown; brother and sister-in-law, Bill and Dianne McIntire; and other extended family and friends.
Visitation will be 12:00 noon to 8:00 p.m., Thursday, December 22, 2016 at Cooper Funeral Home in Tecumseh, Oklahoma. Wake service will be 6:00 p.m., Thursday, December 22, 2016 at Cooper Funeral Home Chapel with Deacon David Schrupp officiating. Funeral Mass will be 10:00 a.m., Friday, December 23, 2016 at St. Benedict Catholic Church in Shawnee with Father Joseph Schwarz officiating under the direction of Cooper Funeral Home of Tecumseh, Oklahoma. Graveside service will be held 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, December 27, 2016 at Crestlawn Memorial Park in Conway, Arkansas under the direction of Roller-McNutt Funeral Home of Conway, Arkansas.
