December 14, 1934 - November 5, 2016

Carthel T. Pinkston, Sr., 81, died on Saturday, November 5, 2016. He was a proud veteran of both the U.S. Air Force and U.S. Army, serving a tour in Germany. He earned his Bachelor's degree from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock and his Master's degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ted and Bertha Pinkston. He is survived by his wife, Wilma Cullum Pinkston; his son, Carthel Ted Pinkston, Jr., of Greenbrier, Arkansas; his daughter, Paula Pinkston Matlock and his son-in-law, Mike Matlock, of Mooresville, North Carolina; granddaughters Madelyn, Marlee, and Mila Matlock and grandniece Kristina Wright, all of Mooresville, North Carolina; and six sisters.
Graveside will be at 2:00 pm, Monday, November 7, 2016, at Crestlawn Memorial Park in Conway, Arkansas. Visitation will be from 4:00 to 6:00 pm Sunday, November 6, at Roller McNutt Funeral Home in Conway.
