Greg & I were running pals for a while before he graduated from CHS. I was a year behind him.
He was always so "pumped up" , for lack of better terms. I never heard him say a bad word about anyone or anything. He had such a happy outlook on life. I was proud to call Him my Friend.
I moved to Little Rock, and heard a few years later that He had been killed in a ship fire. Obviously that was wrong information.
It saddens me to now to find out of his passing, but it saddens me more so to hear that he was living in Greenbrier, only miles away, for all these years, and I did not know it.
GOD Bless him and his Family.
All my Prayers & condolences.

Canten family, I am so sorry for your loss. I went to Conway School with Greg so many years ago. I have a picture from our 6th grade at Ida Burns prior to the tornado hitting. As I remember Greg was the worse hurt in our classroom. You are all in my thoughts and prayers.

He was one of the most dedicated airdales in VAW-13. He had a team-member mentality, and could always be called on when needed.
