What wonderful memories I am thinking about right now. Jim was an exceptional grandpa to my 3 children. They learned so much from him. He could do just about anything from farming, building furniture, building houses, was a great cook, grew gardens like no other, and hand wrote birthday cards for every one of their birthdays with encouraging words and sound advice. They loved his stories whether funny or serious. There were trips to the lake with grilled hamburgers and hotdogs on the boat, fish fries, Easter egg hunts, and he and Wilma got up very early every year to start cooking for Thanksgiving and Christmas. The fruit salad he made for those special occasions was the best. He hand cut every piece of fruit. Also, Jim and Wilma could school anyone on swing dancing and they took a turn (gentle) on the dance floor last year at their great granddaughters wedding. What a sweet sight that was! Jim loved his family and was so proud of them. His motto that I remember him telling my kids was "Ya gotta be tough" and that he was. One of the strongest men I have ever known. We will miss you grandpa. Always, Jeanie
