September 1, 1937 - March 18, 2016

James Edward Milburn, age 78, moved on to be with his creator, March 18, 2016 in Mountain Home, Arkansas. He was born September 1, 1937 in Ranger, Texas, the son of Jesse and Margie Milburn. Dad grew up on a cotton farm near Brownfield, Texas and was brought up as a Baptist. After graduating from Brownfield High School, he enlisted in the U.S. Army. Jim retired in 1978 as a CW3 after serving in Korea, Vietnam, Alaska, Germany and many other locations throughout the United States. Dad had many interests. He was an accomplished sky diver and enjoyed watching football and other sports, but his passion was playing golf. He loved golfing with the guys known as ''the 39'ers'' at Twin Lakes Golf Club. He was ''Mr. Fixit'' and our ''Rock of Gibraltor''. Dad was of impeccable character and was always there for his family. He always had a smile for others and always found the humor in life. He married his wife Eileen on December 15, 1963 and enjoyed his life with her for nearly 52 years until her passing in October of 2015. Jim is survived by his sons Sid Milburn of Mountain Home, Bill Hoermle and his wife Stefanie of Moriarty, New Mexico and brother, Jack Milburn of Fredericksburg, Texas. Grandchildren Emily Eileen Hoermle, Tamara Eileen Cordial, Tad Evermont Cordial, great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. He will be missed by all that knew him.
Visitation will be held at 1pm on Tuesday, March 22nd at Roller Funeral Home with funeral service to follow at 2pm. Military Honors provided by Alley-White American Legion Post 52 and the U.S. Army Honors Team will follow in Baxter Memorial Gardens. Arrangements are by Roller Funeral Home.

Dear Coy,

Your message was well received. You thought enough of my dad to post. I thank you! :) I do not have words to express how I miss him and mom. There aren't any.

Thank you for being a great friend to my father and I am glad that you guys had a chance to enjoy the greatest game ever and had a chance to enjoy a few laughs along the way.

My best to you sir. I appreciate you and the rest of the guys that he held in high regard!

Sincerely,

Sidney L. Milburn
