Thurlow Austin “TA” Martin, age 102 of Marshall, Arkansas passed from this life on Friday, August 19th, 2016 at Hospice of the Ozarks in Mountain Home, Arkansas. He was born in Searcy County, Arkansas on October 22nd, 1913 to Mr. Albert Pickney Martin and Mrs. Sarah Elizabeth (Fox) Martin.

Thurlow was a veteran of the United States Navy and served during WWII. He worked for the CCC during the depression. He was a farmer his entire life and lived on the family farm for over 95 years. Thurlow still rode his four-wheeler around the farm at the age of 100.

Thurlow is preceded in death by his parents; his wife of 80 years and 9 months, Hazel (Horton) Martin; one daughter, Joyce Drewry; and nine siblings.

Survivors include one son, Gene Martin and wife Mae of Marshall; and daughter, Sarah Qualls and husband Elbert of Harrison; grandchildren, Karen (Chris) Hoffman, Todd Gasaway, Eric (Amy) Gasaway, Dena (Jeff) Dixon, Rhonda (Donnie) Honeycutt, Cindy Porter, Sherri (George) Smith, William Austin Drewry, Donald (Cathy) Martin, Ronald (Diane) Martin, Anna Radubaugh, Ursula (Mike) Burney, Deidra (Robert) Gunnels and Melissa (Dennis) Griffin; twenty-one great grandchildren; seventeen great-great grandchildren; son-in-law, William Drewry; and his beloved cat, Joy who shared his life for approximately sixteen years.

Funeral services for Thurlow will be 10:00 AM Monday, August 22nd, 2016 at Roller-Coffman Chapel in Marshall, Arkansas with Bro. Donnie Horton officiating. Visitation will be 6:00 till 8:00 PM Sunday, August 21st, 2016 in the Chapel. Burial will be in Marshall Memorial Gardens.
Pallbearers will be Eric Gasaway, Todd Gasaway, Austin Gunnels, William Austin Drewry, Nathan Honeycutt and Christopher Casey. Honorary pallbearers will be Kirk Dixon, Josh Smith, Cody Hoffman, Austin Gasaway, Craig Fox, Dustin Hoffman, William Drewry and Charles Horton.
