Billy Joe Reid, age 78 of Marshall, AR went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, December 31, 2015 in Highland Court Nursing Center. He was born on January 31, 1937 in Searcy County to Joe Reid and Betty Lois (Ragland) Reid.
Billy Joe touched many lives during his various careers, which encompassed sheet rocking, painting, law enforcement, and peddling. He was passionate about politics and made many friends throughout his life. He had fun playing dominos and enjoyed seeing friends at the Senior Citizen Center. He was a ''people person''.
Billy Joe spent 58 years preaching the Gospel as a Freewill Baptist minister. Billy Joe's passion and love for people shined through as he pastored several churches throughout his ministry. He was a faithful and dedicated man of God that wanted people to be saved to make Heaven their home.
Billy Joe was a dedicated husband, father, ''poppy'', bother, and uncle to many. His is survived by his wife of 43 years, Charlene Reid of Marshall, AR and eight children that he helped raise: Milton Reid of Boulder, CO; Darlene of Denver, CO; Penny Reid Scott of Longview, Texas, Steve Vickers of Dover, AR; Jamie C. of Clever, MO; Lisa Parks, Renee Kyle, and Jennifer Reid all of Marshall, AR; and several grandkids and great-grandkids.
Billy Joe is preceded in death by his parents Joe and Betty (Ragland) Reid; and siblings: Betty Sue Conrad, R.C. Reid, Harvelene Nodworft, Patsy Killins, Bobby Reid, Robby Reid, Brenda Kay Reid and Vera Rose Reid.
Billy Joe's friends and family will remember the outgoing, faithful, dedicated man he was and miss him greatly.
Funeral services for Billy Joe will be 10:00 am Saturday, January 2, 2016 at Roller-Coffman Funeral Home in Marshall, AR, with Roger Reid and Duane Ragland officiating. Visitation will be 6:00 -8:00 pm Friday, January 1, 2016 at Roller-Coffman. Burial will be in Marshall Memorial Gardens.
Pallbearers will be: John Watts, Clayton Leslie, Jamie Conrad, Derek Horton, Justin Elliott, and Dempsey Vickers. Honorary Pallbearers are: Charlie Rowe, Gary Lee Vickers, and Andrew Ragland.

To Bill's family and friends, i am so sorry for your loss and I know he will be missed greatly. Bill was a man that you could always count on and I am so glad that I had a chance to know and work with him. I will never forget him and hope to see him again some day. I am so happy that I could visit with him last week by phone. Was hoping to visit with him in person soon but God had a different plan.

Billy Joe will be missed by all who knew him. I remember when we use to play softball and he would come around the fields to watch the games and we would pick on him and he would us. He was a great man, friend to all who knew him. My thoughts and prayers are with his family during this difficult time.
