Alice Theresa Karlowitsch

of Helena, AR

September 19, 1933 - September 11, 2018

Alice Theresa Karlowitsch, 84, of Oneida, Arkansas made her way to the Lord's side on September 11, 2018. She was cared for at the Crestpark of Helena with Patient's Choice Hospice where she passed of natural causes. Alice was born in Visalia, California on September 19, 1933 to the parents with the last name of Pippens. At some point she was put up for adoption at the age of 10. She was adopted by the Ings, prominent grape growers in Lodi, California. She grew up an only child except for a possible sister from the Pippens. Alice is survived by her husband John Karlowitsch with his daughter Linda Maciel (Fred), three of her four sons Patrick Cotrell (Lisa) of Petaluma, California with his three adult children, Briana, Brendan and Patricia along with two grandchildren, Maylee and Summer. Her second son, Michael Cotrell, was taken early due to complications from a motor vehicle accident. Her third son, Jon Van Allen (Maussi) of Windsor Locks, Connecticut and his two adult children, Ashlyn of San Francisco, California and Kamryn currently serving in the Air Force in Great Falls, Montana. Her fourth son, Joel Van Allen (Sarah) of Honolulu, Hawaii who is currently teaching at the local Community College. Alice is also survived by three step-children, her extended family, Rosemary and James O'Neal along with her church families and friends. Alice leaves behind and will be dearly missed by her fur babies (Bianca and Leibe) which were her pride and joy.

Alice had lived in many places, but the constant was her devotion to the spreading of God's word. She wore many hats. Organist, Pianist, Soloist, Sunday School Teacher, Grade School Teacher, temporary home school teacher, Good News Club leader, cleaner, mother, wife and friend. She enjoyed knitting and crocheting to which she did beautiful work. She would knit beanies and hand out to those in need during the winter. A page could be filled with the good things to which she has put her hands. She will be forever on our minds as she was mom, wife and friend.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Humane Society of the Delta, Helena, Arkansas.

There will be a memorial service on Wednesday, September 19, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. at the New Beginning Church, 554 South 7th Street, West Helena, Arkansas.
