Zettie Lee Gibson

of Batesville, AR

August 22, 1937 - June 19, 2018

Zettie Lee (Vickers) Gibson, 80, of Batesville went to be with her Heavenly Father on Tuesday, June 19, 2018.

She was born in Jennie to the late Easton Wright and Rosie Alma Vickers on Sunday, August 22, 1937.

Zettie was a Christian lady who was very active with the youth at the church and loved her family very much. She enjoyed working with flowers in her garden. Her love for history and art led her to creating historic dolls. She made every detail on each doll with love and care, from the hair and clothing, to the books each one held. Her dolls were loved so much, they were displayed in the Phillips County Museum.

She is survived by her loving husband, Claude Randle Gibson Sr.; one son, Claude Gibson Jr. (Pat) of Marion; two daughters, Devora Tappan (David) of Batesville, Joetta Walker of Sherwood; six grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.

Zettie is preceded in death by her parents, her father, Tom, one brother, and five sisters.

Pallbearers will be Allen Tappan, Trent Tappan, Randle Gibson, Charles Drennan Jr., Carl Ray Drennan, and Robert Drennan.

A funeral service will be held at the Roller Citizens Chapel in West Helena at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, June 21, 2018 with Brother Byron Roberts and Brother Terry Floyd officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens.

There will be no visitation.

In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Humane Society of the Delta 8480 Phillips 300 Rd. Helena, AR. 72342

So sorry for your loss may you find peace and comfort in the words spoken at 2 Corinthians 1:3 & 4" Praised be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of tender mercies and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our trials so that we may be able to comfort others in any sort of trial with the comfort that we receive from God

Like Carolyn, I remember your song to Zettie...wasn't quite like Bing Crosby but could see the love your had for Zettie. We are all close to our classmates since most of us had l2 years together. Since I lost my wife in January, I know what you are facing. Our faith in God is the only source of hope in times like this. Be blessed.

So very sorry for your loss. I remember Claude singing to Zettie at our reunion. That was so very touching. She was blessed with a great marriage, family. And life. I will always remember her all the way back to early childhood. God bless you all.

So sorry for your loss. I will be making a donation to the Humane Society to honor your loved one. I have had a shelter dog for the past 5 years, and this animal has been such an unbelievable comfort to me after the loss of my husband of 46 years. Know that your loved one (Mom, Grandmother, Aunt, Cousin, Whomever) did indeed make a difference in this world, and when the trumpet blows....the dead in Christ will rise 1st, then those of us who are alive and remain....we will all be caught up together.....and "so shall we ever be with the Lord". Be comforted with these words.
