Mildred (Mickie) graduated from Crowder High School and Methodist School of Nursing. She was a registered nurse working as the supervisor of surgery at the Helena Hospital when she met Glen Bryant on a blind date. She was always proud of her nursing degree but left the profession to assist her husband in his optometry practice. She was a vital part of that practice assisting patients and actually making the glasses for more than fifty years.
She was active in her childrens and grandchildrens activities and enjoyed watching every football, basketball, or baseball game she could possibly attend. Because of her love of basketball from her days at Crowder High School, she especially loved watching those games. Due to her familys interest in golf, she frequently found herself watching matches involving her husband, sons or grandsons.
Mickie and Glen also loved to travel and enjoyed several trips to Mexico (often as part of an optometry charity), England, France and China.
The family wishes to thank Eddie Schieffler for his many acts of kindness, as well as Mrs. Bryant's caregivers: Lisa Montague, Darsula Britton, Denecia Williams and Nancy Glidewell.
Mrs. Bryant was a devoted member of the West Helena United Methodist Church and on the founding committee for DeSoto School in West Helena, Arkansas. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to either of those entities or a charity of your choice. Visitation will be held at 1:00 p.m., and the funeral will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, May 28, 2018 at West Helena Methodist Church, Fifth and Plaza Streets, West Helena, Arkansas.

I am so sorry to hear about Mickie passing. For many years she worked with my glasses to give me a proper fit. She was the only person in my lifetime of needing glasses that could give me that perfect comfortable fit. I have missed her expertise in reason years as I know many other people have.
