Ruth Ellen Grider, a lifelong resident of Connells Point, Arkansas went to be with the Lord on Friday, December 15, 2017. She was born December 9, 1922 in Adaburg, Kentucky to Roscoe and Laura (Rogers) Farmer. She married Alonzo "Pete" Grider Jr. on July 12, 1940 and they had three children, Phyllis Marie, Nina Laura and Daniel Alonzo Grider.
Ruth was a long time member of the Sanctified Church of Christ of Connell"s Point. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Pete Grider; sister Lorene Lynch; brother James "Jimmy"Farmer; two infant sisters, two infant brothers and daughter, Nina Laura King.
She is survived by her daughter, Phyllis Copeland of Russellville, AR; Son Dan & wife Agnes Grider of Pottsville, AR; Eight grandchildren, Steven & wife Mary Copeland of Greenwood, AR; Denise Copeland of Statesville, NC; Mike & wife Carol King of Marvell, AR; Tim & wife Debbie King of Southaven, MS; Amy Morgan of Russellville, AR; Marsha & husband Stuart Porter of Riverview, FL; Dwayne Grider of Russellville, AR; Adam & wife Brandi Grider of Miami, OK; 14 great-grandchildren; 6 great-great-grandchildren along with many nieces & nephews.
The funeral service will be held at Roller-Citizens Funeral Home in Helena-West Helena, Arkansas Tuesday morning at 10 am on December 19, 2017. The service will be conducted by Rev. Steve Copeland. Internment will follow at Smalley Cemetery in the Connell's Point community.
She was a very precious lady. Loved her when we lived down the lane from she and Mr. Pete.
I will hold my memories of Aunt Ruthie close always. Till I see her in our heavenly home. Lonny Phyllis and family y'all are in my prayers. To have AUNT Ruthie in my life was one of my biggest life blessings
