Billy Joe Kidder, Sr., 81, of Helena, Arkansas passed away Friday, December 8, 2017 at home with his family at his side. Mr. Kidder was born December 19, 1935 in Earle, Arkansas to the late Joe Benjamin Kidder and Perlina Coursey Kidder.

Mr. Kidder is survived by his wife, Clarice Tooley Kidder; a son, Billy Joe Kidder, Jr. of Helena; a daughter, Sherie Denham of Clarksdale, Mississippi; three grandchildren, Tory W. Kidder, Amy Jo Kidder and Maggy Denham Pettit; six great-grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Mr. Kidder was member of the Helena Fire Department as well as Fire Chief. He served on the Arkansas State Firefighters Association.

Memorial services for Billy Joe Kidder are 1:00 p.m., Thursday, December 14, 2017 at Roller-Citizen Funeral Home.

So sorry to hear about Chief Kidder. When I was a teenager he let me spend most of my time at the station, I have very fond memories of him. May God grant you peace during this time.

Billy was a very special man, I knew his Dad Joe and first knew Billy in 1950's when he worked at Spur gas. He always was upbeat and a hard worker and devoted to his family. You are in my thoughts and prayers. Jim Mayer
