Leta Washington Kemmer, 96, of Marvell, Arkansas passed away Tuesday, July 11, 2017 in Helena, Arkansas. Mrs. Kemmer was born January 3, 1921 to Sullivan Dee and Trilby Johnson Washington in Pontotoc, Mississippi.

Mrs. Kemmer was the owner of Red House Antiques for 35 years and she enjoyed everyone she met. She and her husband traveled across the United States antiquing and traveling with her brother and sister-in-law, Herman and Bobbie Joe Washington. They visited their daughter and grandchildren in Montana many summers and enjoyed every moment with them.

Mrs. Kemmer is survived by two daughters, Lynn Kemmer of Marvell, Arkansas and Sheila Kemmer of Great Falls, Montana; five grandchildren, Andrea Westling, Amy Williams (Ken), Anna Garlock (Trevor), Amanda Murray (Sean), Laurel Coker-Catlett -her special granddaughter that helped take care of her; ten great-grandchildren and four great -great-grandchildren; one sister-in-law, Bobbie Jo Washington of Jackson, Mississippi; sister, Frida Reynolds (Charles) of Batesville, Mississippi; one brother, Daniel Washington of Drew, Mississippi; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends; and two special friends, John Hall and Jimmy Oliphant.

She was preceded in death by her husband Roy Andrew Kemmer; her parents; three sisters, Edna, Ruby and Louise; and four brothers, James, Alva Ray, Herman and Norman.

A graveside service for Leta Kemmer will be held Thursday, July 13, 2017 at Eventide Cemetery in Marvell, Arkansas at 10:00 a.m. Dr. J. E. Hughes will officiate.

In lieu of flowers please donate to Marvell Cemetery or St. Jude.

Service will be directed by Roller-Citizens Funeral Home, West Helena, (870) 572-2571.

Lynn ... your Mom and Dad were wonderful people, and it was always fun to visit with them. And look through the antiques. I actually still have a few of them. Please accept my sincere sympathy, and I'll keep all the family in my prayers.
