James ''Red'' Cooper, 68, of Helena, Arkansas passed away March 6, 2017 at Helena. Mr. Cooper was born January 29, 1949 at West Helena, Arkansas to the late George Washington and Geneva Mae Charlton Cooper. He worked several years for the Corp of Engineers out of Memphis, Tennessee. He was an Army veteran.

Mr. Cooper is survived by his sister, Joyce Mallard of Helena and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Bobby Cooper and a nephew, Grady Garrison, Jr.

The family will have a memorial service at a later date.

Sorry for the family's loss. Many good memories of days long ago came to mind as I read the obituary. We have had a full life and the memories we leave will keep us in the minds of friends and family. Days at Beech Crest and Woodruff seem so far and long ago but are vivid still.
These few words will have little affect but I want the family to know that others share the loss and you are in my prayers for peace and comfort.
