August 31, 1936 - January 31, 2017

James Helen ''Jamie'' Collins, age 80 of West Helena, AR passed away Tuesday, January 31, 2017 at the UAMS Medical Center in Little Rock, AR. She was born August 31, 1936 in McCool, Mississippi. She was a loving mother, grandmother and sister. She loved her family and enjoyed every second she could be with them. Her passion was her love for Jehovah God, she loved studying her bible and welcomed any conversation in those regards. She was a member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses in West Helena.

Preceding her in death was her mother and father Helen and Kenneth Knox the two people who influenced her the most in her life and instilled in her the drive for hard work and her notorious determination; her husband, George H. Collins, her daughter and son-in-law whom she loved dearly Carol and James Schaffer and her brother-in-law, Jerry Guinn.

She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Jim and Cindy Collins of Benton, a daughter and son-in-law Ila Moss and Glen Cockroft, of Carthage, MS, two sisters, Joy Guinn of Fredericksburg, VA and Jackie Patterson of Memphis TN, nine grandchildren, Angela Collins, Adrena Myrick, Tera Baldridge, Megan Tharp Collins Moss, Ali Faith Cockroft, Quinn Lowery and Katrina Swafford. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews and many other extended family members and her precious fur baby, Twix.

A visitation will be Friday, February 3, 2017 from 6 to 8 pm at Roller-Citizens Funeral Home in West Helena. Graveside service will be 11 am Saturday, February 4 at the Bowie Chapel Cemetery in McCool, MS with O.C. Chun and David Vallun officiating. Pall bearers will be Jim Collins, Brian Guinn, Glen Cockroft, B.J. Ingram, Danny Ray Smith and James Julian.

Helen was an excellent seamstress working for Unique Cleaners years ago and I enjoyed the opportunity of working with her. She will be truly missed.
