Maxine Howard, 85, of Helena, Arkansas passed away Saturday, December 10, 2016 in Little Rock, Arkansas. Mrs. Howard was born May 22, 1931 at Kilmichael, Mississippi to the late Eddie and Willie Peacock Ray. She was a retired supervisor for Doughboy Manufacturing Company for over 40 years and a member of the First Baptist Church in Helena. Mrs. Howard loved baking, arts and crafts, bragging on her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, friends and animals. She also loved talking about her friends and co-workers at Doughboy.
Mrs. Howard is survived by one son, Jimmy Howard of Helena; two grandchildren, Beth Stubbs and Jay Howard; two great-grandchildren, Hannah Howard and Jack Stubbs; one sister Jo Strout of Jackson, Mississippi; two brothers, James Ray of New Orleans, Louisiana and Bobby Ray (Becky) of Helena and a host of nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Arthur Howard; two sisters, Gladys Crawford and Elaine Carpenter.
Funeral services for Maxine Howard will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, December 14, 2016 at Roller-Citizens. Visitation will be held from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, December 13, 2016 at Roller-Citizens. Burial will be at Sunset Memorial Park in West Helena. Brother Cliff Bernard will officiate.
Pallbearers are Chris Ray, Jaden Patterson, Michael Crawford, Bob Shearer, Tripp Gregory and Leonard Rohrscheib.
Donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, P.O. Box 1000 Dept. 142, Memphis, TN. 38101-9908.
Services will be directed by Roller-Citizens Funeral Home, West Helena (870) 572-2571.

I am so sorry to hear about your mother. I talked to her when I visited my mom at Crest Park. She was always smiling and so sweet. I am going to miss that smile.
