Thinking about you today, Joe.
Joe, you will be missed and I will never forget you. Joe and I met in the sixth grade at Helena Jr. High, we were in the same home room, and became instant friends. I never found anything I didn't like about Joe and you can't say that about many people. He loved visiting because I lived on a large farm with lots of woods and we both loved to hunt. No squirrel or rabbit was safe when we entered their territory. He also really looked forward to and enjoyed the good country breakfast my mother would always get up and cook for us before we left the house, no matter how early it was. He would come down and spend weekends and we had a blast hunting or just target shooting. It had been many years since I had seen Joe but we kept in touch by phone and email. Once when I called him he was inspecting a nuclear powerhouse in Mississippi, I asked him what that was like and he said he no longer needed a flashlight because he glowed in the dark. Our last conversation was in early February and in typical Joe fashion he told me that if he was still alive he'd see me in June. He said he was going to make every effort to be at the reunion. He didn't sound very optimistic but as always had a good sense of humor and said that since I lived in Colorado I should send him some of our legalized pot to see him through the bad times and he would be expecting a bag of grass in his mailbox soon. We had a nice long talk and I wish now it had lasted much longer. Joe was an entity unto himself, he didn't fit into any niche, he was one of a kind and there won't be another Joe. Thank you, Joe, for all the good times and for being a good friend. Rest in Peace old Buddy, and if I make the grade I'll see you on that ridge lined with oak trees full of squirrels. Save me a few.
So sorry to hear of Joe's passing. My prayers are with the family.
Henry and I are so sorry to hear about Joe. Please know you will all be in our prayers during this sad time. Love Henry and Billie Sue Rohrscheib
I have been trying to figure out what to say about Joe, one of a kind, "been there done that" kind of a guy... We were neighbors, we were friends. He is resting after this battle....
Sorry to hear about Joe's passing. My prayers are with the family. Joe was a fun person and always kidding around. He will truly be missed by many.
A great friend and one of the coolest most humble do anything for you guy. I had known Joe since I was just a kid where we both worked at my dad's gas station in Helena. He and my cousin Buddy loved to torment me. We still laughed about the day that they took my precious bicycle and put long forks on it ( a 10 speed mind you) to make it look like a chopper. Well after they had a good laugh they said where are you going? I said to the grease room to get my dad,s gun. Oh well they fixed it quick. But we remained friends for years and I loved him as one of my family and he will be greatly missed. My deepest sympathies to his family.
I remember lots of good times with the Mitchell Boys.......Joe will be missed, but we will all meet again someday Soon.....Daivd a Special Thank You for seeing after your Brother.....
I did not know Joe well but could instantly tell he was a very kind and caring person. He helped me rescue puppies once and wouldn't leave until we got the last one that was hiding deep in a drain at 10th st. park. I will always remember that. Rest peacefully, Joe.
I love you Joe and I'll see you again someday. You will be greatly missed my friend.
I will miss Joe's stories and jokes. Joe will be missed by all his friends at work.
God Bless.
Those we love can never be more than a thought apart,
