William Owen Hardesty, 82, of Elaine, Arkansas passed away Thursday, June 28, 2012 at Helena, Arkansas. Mr. Hardesty was born January 30, 1930 at Armorel, Arkansas to the late Charles Alfred Hardesty and the late Mary Odom Hardesty.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Doris Nell Johns Hardesty; a son, Shawn Hardesty of Elaine; four daughters, Patsy Hardesty of Lambrook, Arkansas, Renee Lamb of Elaine, Shannon Gerraputa of Conway, Arkansas and Kellie Griffith of Marianna, Arkansas; fifteen grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren; and a sister, Deloris Jones of Blytheville, Arkansas.
He was preceded in death by his parents;a son, Michael Owen Hardesty; and six brothers and two sisters.
Services for William Owen Hardesty will be held at 10 a.m., Saturday, June 30, 2012 at Roller-Citizens Funeral Home. Visitation will be Friday evening from 6-8 p.m. at Roller-Citizens. Burial will be at Sunset Memorial Park in West Helena. Reverend Fred Garrison will officiate.
Pallbearers are Matthew Hardesty, Chad Hardesty, Darrin Hardesty, Bailey Griffith, Billy Johns,Frankie Hildebrand and Jeff Johns. Honorary pallbearers are Pete Faulkner, Benny McCann, James Scaife and Nicholas Inman.
Memorials in lieu of flowers may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 201 Markham Center Drive, Little Rock, Arkansas 72205.
Services will be directed by Roller-Citizens Funeral Home, West Helena, (870) 572-2571.

I just found out yesterday that one of my favorites had passed away. I know that each of you will find peace and comfort in Our Lord Jesus Christ. We had tons of fun growing up together, give Aunt Doris a hug, I know the Lord has protected her. Love to you all.

knew this good man from way back.taught his kids in high school. they are all nice and very good people. sorry to say, he passed away on my dads birthday, who passed away earlier this year at 87. i will pray for you all in these hard times. sorry to say i did not know that mike had passed away. very sorry. doris, patsy and all u others hang in there and may god bless u all.

I was so sorry to hear that Owen had passed away. I was looking forward to the next family reunion in September and seeing his smiling face. He had such a big heart and you JUST knew his family meant the world to him. I know he is in Heaven with the rest of our family--having a grand old time!
