Karen Ann (Brooks) Garren, 65, a resident of Knoxville, formerly of Paris passed away Thursday, August 23, 2018 at Sparks Regional Medical Center in Fort Smith.
She was born October 6, 1952, in Paris to the late Jasper Jack and Emma Agnes (Tygart) Brooks. She married Jefferson James Garren on August 24, 1970, in Charleston. Karen devoted her life to raising and caring for her family. She was of the Baptist faith.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a sister, Jackie Lewis and a brother, Guy Brooks.
Survivors include her husband of 48 years, Jeff Garren of Knoxville; two daughters, Sherry Wood of Springdale and Kathy Moore and husband, Toby of Charleston; three grandchildren, Isaac Case, Amelia Moore and James Tyndall; two great grandchildren, Hadleigh and Oliver Case; a brother, Jerry Brooks of Scranton and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m., Sunday, August 26, 2018, at the Roller Funeral Home in Paris.
The funeral will be held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, August 27, 2018, at the Roller Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Caulksville Cemetery under the direction of Roller Funeral Home.
Her nephews will serve as pallbearers.
My thoughts and prayers are with you all during your loss of Karen. She was a special person I have fond memories of Karen from our youth she always had that smile and a fun lively outlook. My mother Was Emma Jane (Tygart) Hickman her n Karen's mother Agnes were first cousins. I remember going to Bit n Agnes house as kids n while the adults visited me,my sister n Karen would visit outside by the clothesline. Fond memories of a cousin. George n Elmer Tygart were brothers and carry on a legacy of family to this day. May you hearts be comforted she is in Heaven watching over you.

Sherry, We are so sorry for your loss. Your mom has been fighting this fight for a very long time. It's a blessed thought that she is walking with the Lord in her perfect body; no pain; no suffering. God just wanted Angel Karen to be with HIM now. You will miss her but she is always with you. You carry so much of her influence in your own heart and life.
