Charles Edward Whorton, 67, a resident of Paris passed away Saturday, June 16, 2018, at his residence.

He was born February 2, 1951, in Paris to the late Buel and Mamie (Nordin) Whorton. Charles served his country in the United States Navy in the Philippines during the Vietnam War. After his military service he spent his working years as an auto body mechanic and then worked in the oil and gas field. In his spare time Charles loved working in his garden, fishing and always adding to his arrowhead collection.

In addition to his parents Charles was preceded in death by a sister, Rosemary Fisher.

Survivors include two sons, Nathan Whorton of Charleston and Jeremy Whorton of Raleigh, North Carolina; two daughters, Lacie Chapman of Paris and Carrie Whorton of St. Louis, Missouri; nine grandchildren, Julian Whorton, Bella Solomon, Ronnie Whorton, Serenity Whorton, Emmalynn Whorton, Melody Chapman, Lucas Whorton, Sophia Whorton and Olivia Whorton; two sisters, Nina Rudolph and husband, J.D. of Paris and Shirley Bradow and husband, Duane of Port Angeles, Washington; four brothers, James Whorton and wife, Glenda of Stanwood, Washington, John Whorton and wife, Kathy of Russellville, David Whorton of Paris and Darrell Whorton and wife, Patty of Harrison and twenty nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, June 21, 2018, at the Harmony Assembly of God near Paris with Rev. Tammy Frederick and Rev. John Whorton officiating. Burial with military honors provided by the United States Navy Honor Guard will follow in Moore Cemetery under the direction of Roller Funeral Home in Paris.

Uncle Charles will be greatly missed and Tim and I send heartfelt condolences to Lacie, Nina, David, JD, and all the family. While we are sorry Charles is gone we know he is no longer in pain and in his words "don't cry".
