Albert J. Morris, 84, a resident of Fort Smith passed away Sunday, February 12, 2017, in Fort Smith.

He was born August 30, 1932, in Henryetta, Oklahoma to the late William Franklin and Beulah Mae (Thrasher) Morris. Albert worked as a musician and a carpenter. He spent his spare time playing music. In addition to his parents, Albert is preceded in death by two sons, Jesse Dean Morris and Jackie Morris; two brothers, Reuben Theodore Morris and Michael Earl Morris; three sisters, Barbara Sue Morris, Mary Evelyn (Cricket) Brown and Betty Ruth Parks and a granddaughter, Reba Wagner.

Survivors include his wife of 50 years, Violet Morris of Fort Smith; two sons, Troy and Dale Morris, both of Bakersfield, California; a stepson, Buel Dean Luker of Dallas, Texas; three step-daughters, Sherry King of Fort Smith, Carolyn Valenteni of Van Buren and Debbie Jean Griffin of Bakersfield, California; three sisters, Bertha Thomas of Pocola, Oklahoma; Joyce Schoonover of Malvern and Ivy Lee Flora McLeland of Henryetta, Oklahoma; a brother, Anthony Wayne Morris of Spiro, Oklahoma; numerous grandchildren including Michael Schenk and Courtney Valenteni; two great grandchildren, Nevaeh Schenk and Niki Brown and numerous nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, February 16, 2017, at the Oakwood Cemetery in Paris with the Rev. H.C. Varnadore and the Rev. John Thomas officiating. Burial will follow under the direction of Roller Funeral Home in Paris
