Donald L. Brooks, 80 of Paris, Arkansas passed away on Wednesday, January 25, 2017 in Fort Smith, Arkansas. He was born on August 26, 1936 in Council Bluffs, Iowa to his parents Clyde W. and Victoria Ellen (Ward) Brooks. He was a United States Navy Veteran and was a retired truck driver for Richman Gordman.
Donald was an avid skater, loved riding his motorcycle, enjoyed collecting antique cars, loved dancing and gardening and volunteered at the Paris Senior Center on Saturday Dance Night.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Clyde W. and Victoria Ellen (Ward) Brooks and one son, Donald Leroy Brooks Jr..
He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Joyce (Kotschwar) Brooks of Paris, Arkansas; two sons, Larry Brooks and Kelly Brooks both of Council Bluffs, Iowa; two sisters, Victoria Latham and husband James of Ozark, Arkansas and Suzy Koehler and husband Stephen of Council Bluffs, Iowa; two brothers, William ''Ted'' E. Brooks and wife Mary Anne of Greenwood, Arkansas and Michael Brooks and wife Nancy of Council Bluffs, Iowa and numerous grandchildren, nieces, nephews and other family members.
Visitation will be held from 6:00-8:00 p.m., on Friday, January 27, 2017 at Roller Funeral Home Chapel in Paris.
Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m., on Saturday, January 28, 2017 at Roller Funeral Home Chapel in Paris with burial to follow in Oakwood Cemetery in Paris under the direction of Roller Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be John Opperman, Jason Kellar, Bill E.C. Brooks, Butch Meister, Brett Meister, Billy Don McDaniel Jr., Billy don McDaniel and Stephen Koehler.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Don Christensen, Gerald Traphagan and Gary Pignotti.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 or the Paris Senior Center, 331 S. 1st Street, Paris, AR 75855.
My heart is breaking!!! This man was amazing and so very good to me. He will be so missed. I love you Don!! And just so you know Don that Ugly Dog of mine Baby is sitting here in my lap and she will miss you to. Love ya Broomhilda

I'm so sorry to hear about Don. We had a special relationship, he and I. He would call me every Thursday night (on purpose) at 9:00 just to interrupt my Knots Landing, and I would yell at him for it, lol. I loved him, and I love you. I'm praying for peace and comfort for all of you.
