Adrian F. Furstenberg, 95, a resident of Subiaco passed away Friday, November 6, 2015, in Paris. He was born September 1, 1920, in Paris to the late Frank and Dora (Elsken) Furstenberg. Adrian served as a boiler operator in the United States Navy from 1938 - 1966. He served in World War II, the Korean Conflict and the Vietnam War. Before his military service Adrian drove a milk truck for Bennett Dairy and worked in local coal mines. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, watching westerns and was a member of St. Benedict Catholic Church, the Knights of Columbus and the Catholic War Veterans.
Adrian was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife, Madge Blakenship; his second wife, Anna Laura Vorster ''Tommy'' Furstenberg; six sisters, Anna Marie Konert, Dorothy Favenyesi, Evelyn Furstenberg, Juanita Scarpetta, Ethelreda Burnett Hughes and Betty Tucker and two brothers, Tommy and Leo Furstenberg.
Survivors include his son, David Vorster of Subiaco; a daughter, Debra Vorster of Subiaco; three sisters, Bernice Grist of Paris, Josephine Enzenberger of Palos Park, Illinois and Mary Ellen Furstenberg of Florida; four grandchildren, Emerald and Gus Garcia, both of Russellville, William Vorster of Fort Smith and Laura Vorster of Dardanelle; two great grandchildren, Damien Chambers and Ian Garcia; numerous nieces and nephews and other relatives and friends.
A memorial rosary will be held at 7:45 p.m., Tuesday, November 10, 2015, at the St. Benedict Catholic Church in Subiaco.
A memorial mass will be held at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, November 11, 2015, at the St. Benedict Catholic Church with Father Aaron Pirrera O.S.B. officiating. Burial will follow in the St. Benedict Cemetery under the direction of Roller Funeral Home. Online obituary at www.rollerfuneralhome.com/paris.
