Resting peacefully now and without continued pain, Trudy M. Whitney, 56, passed on to eternal paradise in her sleep on January 27, 2018. She is survived by her daughter, Danielle Townsend, and her former husband and best friend, Al Townsend.

She is also survived by one sister; Christine Whitney King and husband Edward ''Brother'' of Houma, and five brothers; Martin Whitney of Houma, Lee Whitney of Houma, Stephen Whitney, Jr. and wife Brenda of Gray, David Whitney and wife Janet of Pelham, Alabama, Daniel Whitney and wife June of Spring, Texas, and brother-in-law, Tom Hassell of Gray. She was also blessed with numerous nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her mother, Ruth Kelly Whitney, her father, Stephen Douglas Whitney, Sr., and her sister, Ruthie Whitney Hassell. Trudy was a resident of North Little Rock, Arkansas since 2009 and a life-long native of Houma, Louisiana.

She was a loving and supportive mother, friend, sister, and aunt. For the past eight years, she was blessed to have spent her remaining years with her best friend, Al. They often would spend their time reminiscing about the ''good ole days'', going on random road trips, cutting up with each other as each of them had a special and quirky sense of humor, and sharing immense pride they felt for their daughter, Danielle, and her life's accomplishments. She enjoyed dancing, cross stitching and loved kitty cats, chocolate, and enjoyed her time spent with family and friends in her hometown of Houma. She was a phlebotomist at Baptist Health Systems and retired in 2016. She was a believer of Jesus Christ and prayed often.

A private gathering for family and friends will be held in Booneville, Arkansas on February 3, 2018. A private gathering for family and friends will also be held in Houma, Louisiana at a later date.
