Larry E. Akins, Sr., 77, of North Little Rock, died Wednesday, November 29, 2017.
He was born on November 3, 1940 to the late Rose Lee Fitts Sloan in Vilonia. He is also preceded in death by his wife, Mary Ann Akins.
Larry drove a truck for Roadway for 40 years before retiring. He enjoyed petting his dogs, watching Netflix and chill.
Larry is survived by two sons, Larry E. Akins, Jr., William Sission; two daughters, Michelle Lynn Akins, Cathy Ann Shoemaker; five grandchildren: Kurtis Tims, Quincy Tims, Shane Shoemaker, Sarah Shoemaker, Larry E. Akins III; and six great-grandchildren.

My heart breaks for the Akins Family, Being a ex daughter in law, My heart and prayers go out to you all. Rest in peace sweet Pop!!, We will all see each other soon. Wish I could be there in body, But there is spirit.

I'm so sorry to hear of Larry’s. Loosing a loved one is never easy. I lost my dad in 2010, and my mom in 2012. After my losses, reading Revelation 21:3,4 gave me real comfort. It says: And he will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away. I hope reading these verses also give you comfort during this difficult time. GW
