Nelda Mae Myrick, 86, of Sherwood, died Tuesday, October 17, 2017. She was born to the late Biniom and Lois Hicks Smith on September 11, 1931 in Vinity, Arkansas. She is also preceded in death by her husband of 38 years, Marion L. Myrick; and five siblings: Mable Barnett, Shirley Smith, Winford Smith, Melva Summers, and Weldon Smith.
Nelda was a loving, devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. Family and God were the most important things in her life. She was one of eleven siblings in a very close-knit family. Church family was also dear to her. She was a faithful Christian and a member of Sylvan Hills Church of Christ since 1966.
Nelda is survived by her two sons, Keith Myrick of Stuttgart, Germany, Kent Myrick (Anastasia) of Fayetteville; daughter, Brenda Powers (David) of Lakeland, TN; three grandchildren: Christopher Powers, Amy Powers, Eric Powers; two great-grandchildren, Caleb Jaureque, Lexie Jaureque; three sisters: Allene Pennington of Sherwood, Dorothy Jones of Searcy, Juanez Brister of Beebe; two brothers, JC Smith of McRae, Dale Smith of Searcy; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
Funeral Service will be 10:00 AM, Saturday, October 21, 2017 at Roller-Owens Funeral Home, 5509 John F. Kennedy Blvd, North Little Rock, AR 72116 (501-791-7400). Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 PM, Friday, October 20, 2017 at the funeral home. Burial to follow at 2:00PM at Gum Springs Cemetery in Searcy.

Dear Family, we extend our sincere sympathy on the sudden death Nelda. Margaret and I have known her, her husband and children for 30 plus years. Our son Jon's first job at age 16 was working for Mr. Myrick's printing business. We are comforted knowing that the Lord Jesus has promised "Comfort" to His Children...and we are his Children. May God continue His love and blessings during this time of loss.
