Brooke Stroud Whitaker, 43, of North Little Rock passed away on October 10, 2017 surrounded by her loving family. She was born on July 22, 1974 in North Little Rock to James Stroud and Brenda Barber Schaufler. She is preceded in death by her grandparents; Homer and Anna Barber and James and Katherine Stroud.
Brooke was a member of Cedar Heights Baptist Church and worked in the IT Department for the Arkansas Teacher Retirement System, where she was known as the ''Little Chihuahua.'' Her greatest accomplishments in her life, were her two beautiful children; Haley Nicole Whitaker and Michael Blake Whitaker, of whom she was so very proud. Brooke will always be remembered for her dedication and love that she had for her children, along with her zeal for life and her determination to excel and work hard to support herself and her kids. Brooke was a lover of NASCAR and Bon Jovi. She will be greatly missed by all those who had the privilege to know her.
She is survived by her children; Haley and Michael Blake Whitaker, her parents; James Stroud and Brenda Schaufler (David) all of North Little Rock. Two sisters; Kacey Brown of Mayflower and Ariel Schaufler Rogers (David) of North Little Rock, aunts; Sandra Stillwell, Sharon Andrews, Debi Ross, Donna Drown and Dorothy Stone, one uncle; Donald Barber, two nieces; Hadley and Karley Brown of Mayflower, along with many other family members and friends.
I just got up from my desk and said to myself.."I have got to go tell Brooke this". Then I realized I can't go tell you. But, you already know what I was going to tell you....you are looking down at us and can see everything that happens. I hope you are enjoying the show and laughed as much as I did.
I miss you....
Grew up with Brooke and very sad to see the news of her passing. She was very kind and she will be missed.
Brooke was such a sweet person and I'm so thankful that I got to know her for a little while. Keeping her children and family in my thoughts and prayers. "Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted." Matthew 5:4

It was such a delight to work with Brooke at the Arkansas Teacher Retirement System. I was so sorry to learn about her death. She was a wonderful sprite and will be greatly missed.
Prayers and comfort to Brooke's children and family. Brooke was very special and a hard worker. I enjoyed working with her. I will miss her and glad I got to give her some hugs.
