June 16, 1933 - April 10, 2017
Thelma (Howell) Wilson, a follower of Christ for most of her 83 years on this earth, joined her eternal Father on April 10, 2017. While her spirit is with her Lord, her physical presence will be sorely missed by her husband Bobby Lee Wilson; her daughter Debra Renee McGohan (Larry); her son Michael Lee Wilson (Jeanean); grandchildren Michael Gene Wilson (Angela), Brock Aaron Wilson, and Lauren Wilson; her great-grandchildren Michael Logan, Luke James, Hutch Walker and Hoyt Christian Wilson; her brothers Dewey Howell (Elaine) and Wick Howell (Peggy); her sisters Mary Agnes Caruthers (Virgil), Mamie Fite (Benny), Sue Watts (Herbert), and Dorothy Cato (Jack); and a host of friends. She is preceded in death by two brothers, Horace and Fay Dean Howell (Betty).
The blue-eyed blonde was blessed to the rather large family of Willis and Delsey Howell on June 16, 1933, was raised in Amity, Arkansas with four brothers and four sisters. She married Bobby Lee Wilson on April 18, 1951, moving to North Little Rock in 1954 and residing there with her family until her passing. She was a housewife raising her children until 1967, when she began working at a newly-opened Wal-Mart, the company's 7th store and retired after 25 years at the same store. She was passionate about her work there and was a personal friend of Sam Walton.
Her great passions were Christ, her family, and her country. She was fiercely competitive when she was a high school basketball player and later in life at dominos.
We will always remember her fondly and love her always.
Funeral Services will be at 11:00 AM, Saturday, April 15, 2017, at Roller Owens Funeral Home, 5509 John F. Kennedy Blvd., North Little Rock, AR 72116 (501-791-7400). Entombment to follow at Rest Hills Memorial Park in North Little Rock. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.
Mike,
So sorry to hear about your mom. I remember her as far back as us walking home from Levy Elementary.

We did not know about Sis. Wilson until this afternoon, but we wanted the family to know we love her dearly. She was a friend we will always remember. Our love and prayers to you.
Our thoughts and prayers go out to you and up to our dear Lord, asking for him to guide you through this time. We feel your pain and know that we are thinking of you. Love to the whole family!

Bob, Debbie and Mike, I am so sorry I did not get over to visit Thelma before her passing. Life, too often, gets in the way. I will always remember and be grateful to her for her kindness to our family, especially Rodney and Tammy, when we first came to NLR Missionary Baptist Church. She made us feel so welcome and loved. Thelma was a sweet and precious friend and what a wonderful christian legacy she left for her family and for all who knew her. My prayers are and have been with you since we talked a couple weeks ago. My love to all, Betty Barentine
Thelma was a sweet lady and a good friend to many. Thinking of you and yours.
Prayers for strength for Bob, Mike, Debbie and family members. I'll never forget the many years as a child going to church with Thelma and her family at NLR Missionary Baptist Church and later at Faith. Always a pleasure seeing her at Walmart too.
Mike Jeanean & Lauren, we are so sorry to hear about your loss. We remember her opening up her home to us when we were there for Katrina. Our prayers & thoughts are with all of you at this time.

Barbara and I are saddened to hear this. All of you are in our prayers.
