Elaine Lusk Goss

of North Little Rock, AR

November 13, 1923 - February 27, 2017

Elaine Lusk Goss, 93, was born in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, the daughter of the late Gladys Butler Lusk and Thomas Lusk.
She survived her three brothers, Bruce (Glenna), Conway and Harold Lusk, all of Louisiana. Elaine was raised in Plaquemine, Louisiana, and graduated from Louisiana State University in 1944 with a major in Home Economics and a minor in Sculpture. After teaching Home Economics several years in Louisiana, Elaine moved to McGehee, Arkansas to teach high school, and there she met Paul Goss, her husband of forty-one years. They moved to Paul's hometown of North Little Rock where Elaine taught at North Little Rock High School from 1947-1950 and raised a family of three girls, the late Constance Goss (David Blasingame), the late Carolyn Goss (Jerry Dobson), and Rachel Goss (Jack Holm), of San Jose, California. A member of First United Methodist Church since 1947, Elaine enjoyed life amongst her extended family and friends. Elaine loved her seven grandchildren and two great grandchildren as well as many nieces and nephews. After her children were grown Elaine returned to her artistic roots and spent the last forty years of her life creating a family legacy of sculpture and paintings. She will be missed.
Visitation will be Sunday, March 5 from 3-5 pm at Roller Owens Funeral Home, 5509 JFK Blvd., North Little Rock (501-791-7400). Funeral services will be held at First United Methodist Church in North Little Rock, 6701 JFK Blvd., on Monday, March 6 at 10 am with interment following at Roselawn Memorial Park.

My heart goes out to you in this sad time. I wish I could be there to give you a hug Rachel. Your mother was a beautiful woman, both inside and out, and I loved her very much. My love to you and your family.
